- Did you know you can buy ‘dips on ice bowls’? For as little at $10 you can purchase a dip bowl the sets in a vessel of ice to keep party dips cold.
- This is especially important if serving dairy-based dips in hot weather!
- You can also make yourself by placing the bowl of dip in a larger bowl filled with ice too.
- Additional ideas include filling a mini wading pool with ice if hosting outdoors and needing to ice multiple dishes or a combination of drinks and party dips (set it on top of a table outside).
- If you entertain often investing in an ice table might be of interest. It’s a folding table whose top is filled with ice.
- Inflatable ice trays are very affordable and can be deflated and stored for your next party!
How to Keep Guacamole from Turning Brown
There is nothing less appetizing than guacamole that has oxidized turning an unappetizing brown color.
The reason guacamole turns brown is the exposure to air. Once making guacamole it should be kept well sealed.
Pressing plastic wrap over the container and actually on top of the guacamole so it is not exposed to any air will keep it a fresh green in the refrigerator until serving.

That guacamole tip would be a game changer, but I think I might be afraid to try it. Putting water onto of your guacamole just seems weird. Maybe I’ll give it a try though!

I agree, it does seem weird. BUT if the guac is thick it won’t absorb the water and once it’s drained the guacamole is stirred up. It’s worth a shot for keeping that guac green!
