Frozen Lemonade is a thirst quenching drink that’s perfect on hot summer days. Add some pineapple for a fast tropical cooler you can make at home any time. Only 2 ingredients!
Lemonade and summer go hand in hand. But frozen lemonade is really what summer calls for.
Easy recipes that can be whipped up with no effort. This is one of those.
This smooth, creamy drink is made even better with pineapple added.
It’s perfect on its own and can easily be made into a cocktail too!
This has become my family’s favorite summer drink. I think it will quickly become yours too!
What is Frozen Lemonade?
It’s lemonade usually combined with ice, blended into a thick frozen drink.
It’s often sold at fast food restaurants but very easy and fast to make at home.
It’s thirst quenching and refreshing. Perfect to take the heat out of the hottest of summer days!
Only 2 Ingredients!
It doesn’t get much easier than this! Only two ingredients are needed.
- prepared Lemonade
- frozen Pineapple
Bags of frozen pineapple are available at the grocery store or you can freeze your own.
If you want to freeze some fresh pineapple you’ll need aproximately 2 1/2 cups frozen pineapple.
How to Freeze Pineapple:
- Cut the fresh pineapple into chunks.
- Place them on a parchment or wax paper lines baking sheet with space in between.
- Freeze until the chunks are hard.
- Remove them and place in a freezer bag or container.
This method should prevent them from freezing in one clump and allow any amount to be used when you need it.
No Ice Needed!
One thing that makes this frozen lemonade recipe so delicious is there is no ice in it.
The frozen pineapple will freeze the lemonade as they blend for a creamy, smooth mixture.
Adding ice will make it more like a Slushy with fine ice particles in the drink.
How Much does the Recipe Make?
4 cups frozen lemonade.
The amount can be modified for your needs or blender size using a 1:1 ratio of lemonade to frozen pineapple.
How to Make Frozen Lemonade – Step-by-Step
The process of making this may need to be modified depending on your blender’s strength and pitcher capacity.
STEP 1: Pour 2 cups of the lemonade into the blender pitcher. Add about half of the frozen pineapple. Blend to break down the pineapple.
STEP 2: Add the remaining lemonade and pineapple. Blend to break down the pineapple.
STEP 3: Puree at the end to blend into a smooth drink.
NOTE: depending on the type of blender being used, it might be necessary to pulse, stir (turn the blender off when doing so) or add a bit more lemonade.
Pro Tip
Don’t Overwork Your Blender
Blenders are not all created equal. If you have a large powerful blender like a Vitamix you’ll be able to blender larger amounts of the pineapple more quickly.
For a smaller or less powerful blender, alternate lemonade and frozen pineapple, blending in between.
Or make the frozen lemonade in batches to not overheat your blender motor.
Make it a Cocktail
This smooth creamy mixture is the perfect base for a tropical cocktail too!
Try adding some regular rum or Malibu Rum for a coconut flavor.
