Ready to get your gluten-free holiday baking on? 24 best gluten-free Christmas Cookie recipes, one for every day in December, with a wide variety of cookies sure to become new favorites for both those gluten-free and gluten-eaters!
It’s that time of year again: 24 Gluten-Free Christmas Cookie Recipes to countdown to Christmas! For the past four years I’ve published a new collection of gluten-free cookie (and treats last year) recipes to countdown to Christmas! With December 1 a few days away, I wanted to be sure you were armed and ready, with spatula’s primed to begin baking for the holidays.
When my kids and I first became gluten-free (for medical need) over 10 years ago we found a really fun local holiday event hosted by a Celiac group. It was a gluten-free cookie exchange. Everyone brought 6 dozen gluten-free holiday cookies and copies of their recipes to hand out, along with food storage containers.
Hot drinks were served and people visited while sampling all the different cookies, collecting recipes and an assortment of cookies to take home with them. I can’t describe how exciting it was, particularly for the children, to be at a food event where they could eat everything without having to read labels or ask 20 questions about ingredients before taking a bite! That is my inspiration for starting this Boulder Locavore tradition of collecting virtual recipes to share with you for your holiday baking!
I’ve scoured the internet curating interesting and inspired gluten-free Christmas cookie recipes from traditional to unique. No matter what type of cookies you love, I feel sure you’ll find new favorites on this list! Being one who loves variety, I’ve sourced quintessential holiday cookie types, those decorated in beautiful holiday trimmings and special flavorful options to adorn your holiday parties in style.
Some of these recipes are naturally gluten-free as well. If you are a gluten-eater, I feel confident you’ll love making these too and trying some new flavors as well as realizing some of your holiday favorites are already gluten-free!
I think this year is my favorite to date! I know you’ll love exploring some of the talented bloggers who contributed to this delicious list. Their recipes are creative and photography fantastic! ALL the recipes on this list are gluten-free!

Thank you so, so much for this post! It is so hard going through the holidays and not being able to have gluten with all of the yummy cookies everywhere!
Toni Dash says
I totally agree Cassie! That’s why the gluten-free cookie exchange I mentioned in the post was so magical I think. We are so used to not being able to fully participate! This list is not only gluten-free but so many types of cookies and all so gorgeous!

These all look amazing! I don’t eat a gluten-free diet, but a friend of mine recently started and I know she was a bit worried about sweets at Christmas time. I’m going to send her this link!
Toni Dash says
That’s great, Jennifer, I’m sure she’ll thank you. Even if you are not gluten-free a number of these recipes for instance for the meringues, macaroons and macarons are made the same as those ‘gluten-eaters eat’!
Colleen Lanin says
Those all sound delicious. You know, when I think gluten free, I don’t think super delicious sweet treats. Thanks so much for sharing these!
Toni Dash says
All my recipes have always been gluten-free (usually with a gluten option; never like to leave anyone out!) but I’ve been low key about it since I do think unless you are gluten-free what one imagines it to include is often not accurate. When I learned I had to begin to eat gluten-free, I had no idea what gluten even was! Often people think it’s healthy and though whole foods are gluten-free (unless it’s grain) you can also eat candy bars and potato chips and be gluten-free!

Those look amazing! I love the creativity of all of these recipes. The gingerbread man looks amazing.

Those look so good. It’s hard to believe that some of these are gluten free. I’ll have to give these a try.
