The wing recipe looks divine! Filing away to try. The beer information is most helpful and I enjoyed reading your opinions on each. I’ve tried the “Off the Grid” and have to agree that it was a very close match, which I rather enjoyed. Have to pick up the other two. Heard they are now available in the Kentucky area, so certainly appears that the gluten-free goodness is spreading š

Holy wow those wings look like perfection. Normally I am not a big fan of wings – but I wont even joke – right now I am drooling.
Maya says
This sounds delicious as I love sumac. I will try that wild rice dressing.

First of all, I love that you turned the recipe into wings for the game day! Second, you just might have made my husband the happiest man in town right now with the beer info. I've heard from several people that GF beers are simply horrid. (I am not a beer drinker at all, so I wouldn't have a clue.) My husband has just recently stopped consuming wheat in any form, and I think he misses the occasional beer most of all. I'm going to see if I can find this brand in my area this weekend. Thanks again!!
Boulder Locavore says
Mary if you check the link in my post it lists all the states carrying the beer and I think who carries it (I did not follow it to that level). If not you can always order from the online source (also a link in the post). Good luck, finding replacement foods/drinks was the toughest part of the transition for me!

I have never tried sumac, but oh my god those pictures are making me so hungry and there is still 3 hours to go before dinner. Dang it! Next time I am grocery shopping, I am going to look out for all the ingredients in the recipe and making this dish! Thanks for sharing!
Boulder Locavore says
Hi Shumaila. Do give sumac a try. I think you'll instantly imagine things where you could use it perhaps in place of lemon. If you make the wings I hope you'll love them as much as we did!
GlutenFreeBeer.org says
The wings sound delicious! We will definitely be trying them in the near future. New Planet is an excellent beer and a great choice to go with many foods. You can find a number of other GLUTEN FREE BEER REVIEWS on The Gluten Free Beer Association website .

Thanks for the resource! Always good to know about other brands and see notes on them.

I agree with you that sumac is an under-used spice…and it is so delicious! I have never thought of grinding rice to use as a coating like this…such a great idea!
Boulder Locavore says
Thanks Alli. This endeavor only strengthened my conviction to use sumac more. I love the flavor and it was great on the wings.

So, one of my culinary secrets is that I am a wing FANATIC. I will go to the ends of the earth for a great wing. Your wild rice powder is making me literally salivate- like for real literally. I will probably dream of this recipe until I have a chance to make it (this weekend?)
Love love love it.
Boulder Locavore says
Thanks Sabrina and glad to know one of your culinary inner secrets. The wild rice powder was great. Easy to make, nutty and cruchy. Do let me know if you try it!
