I’ve always said I’m not a ‘Mommy Blogger’ but rather a mom who blogs. I’ve been pretty low key about being a mom, not mentioning it at all for the first year of blogging really wanting my voice to be heard as a writer and not a mom. Having said that, raising a family has been my most fun adventure to date. I’m blessed with two lovely human beings as children and could not be prouder. I’m thankful for the other moms I’ve met along the way with whom I’ve shared the discoveries and challenges of child rearing. The getting to know myself as a mother, navigating uncharted waters and being in constant re-engineering for new challenges.
I’m also thankful for the long time team rooted in my pre-mommy life who always listened and kept me tethered to my more whole self by sending me books like ‘The Three Martini Playdate’ to compliment the Dr. Sears development books I hung on during the early years of motherhood.
It is the joy and inspiration of this community of woman giving muse to my celebratory cocktail The Spring Fling. Every mom deserves a cocktail in her honor (whenever she wants it frankly) and this light, flowery sip is a toast to those nerves of steels, huge hearts bursting with unwavering love and the unconditional embrace only a mother can offer. Cheers Ladies! From one Mom to another; I celebrate you!
The hue of this cocktail is far more ‘Wuthering Heights’ than its light, floral flavors. Creme de Violette is bright violet in color skewing the cocktail to become a light gray. I loved the sophisticated tone feeling it created a surprising visual contrast to the flavor of the drink and mirroring our thus far snowy, rainy spring skies in the Rockies.

This drinks looks delicious!
I do like the idea of naming a cocktail inspired by ‘Wuthering Heights’, but that’s just because it’s one of my favorite books.
Thanks for sharing.

I really like the color palette you’ve chosen for your photos. And a nice cocktail, too! Light, refreshing with the smallest bit of a kick from the vodka. Good stuff – thanks.
