Place individual cookies on the prepared baking sheet.
Allow to sit until the chocolate hardens. Enjoy as is to as part of another recipe.
Notes
What to do if the chocolate is too thick. As melted chocolate cools it can become too thick to dip and coat well. If the chocolate is too thick to dip the Oreos stir in 1/2 teaspoon of melted vegetable shortening to start. Stir in into the melted chocolate and it will thin up. You can add more if needed. Don’t use water. You'll find this instruction on the candy melt bag too.VariationsUse different candy melts. Different flavors, different colors create great options to customize for your desired end result.Works for any sandwich cookie. You can do this with any flavor of Oreos or with other brands of sandwich cookies. Both regular and gluten-free cookies work.Dip half of the cookie. For a different look, insert only half of the cookie into the melted chocolate. Proceed with the instruction as directed. How to StoreStore in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week if in a cool environment. For longer storage or if in a hot or humid environment store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Moisture will ruin the chocolate coating so be sure to use a well sealed container if storing in the refrigerator.Decorations. If you want to add sprinkles add them to each cookie after it is dipped so the sprinkles will adhere to the candy coating. A second color or flavor dipping chocolate can be drizzled onto the dipped cookies once they've set too.
