Homemade CHICKEN BROTH

Whole chicken

Add a whole raw chicken to a Dutch oven or large stock pot.

Add Vegetables

Add carrots, celery, onion and garlic cloves to the pot.

Use Cold water

Fill the pot with cold filtered water to cover the ingredients plus 1-2 inches.

Herbs and seasoning

Add fresh rosemary, thyme, parsley, bay leaf, peppercorns and salt.

Simmer

Gently simmer for 1 1/2 hours or until the chicken is fully cooked. Can be simmered longer.

Strain

Remove the chicken and separate from the bone. Strain and discard vegetables and herbs.
