Ingredients

  • 1 spiral cut ham fully cooked
  • ½ cup pineapple juice
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ginger
  • teaspoon ground cloves

Instructions

Before starting

  • Place the trivet into the Instant Pot. Place the ham on it to ensure it will fit and that the lid can close securely.
If needed the ham can be trimmed to fit.
  • Remove the ham. Let the ham sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking.

Prepare the Glaze

  • To prepare the glaze, mix the melted butter, honey, brown sugar, white sugar, mustard, pepper, cinnamon, ginger and cloves in a small bowl.

Heating the Ham

  • Place the trivet is in the Instant Pot if it has been removed. Pour in 1 cups cold water for a 6-quart Instant Pot and 2 cups cold water for an 8-quart Instant Pot.
  • Cut a large piece of heavy foil and place the ham in the middle. Form a large bowl with the foil around the ham. Fold the sides together well to help keep the glaze inside.
  • Separate the ham slices and brush glaze in between each slice and all around the outside.
  • Place the foil with ham in the Instant Pot. Pour the pineapple juice over the ham.
  • Place a second piece of foil over the foil “bowl” surrounding the ham. Crimp the foil together to seal the ham.
  • Place the lid on the pot and set the seal.
  • Select High Pressure, cook the ham according to pounds. Formula: 2 minutes per pound plus 15 minutes. Refer to chart in the NOTES section below.
  • When the cooking cycle is complete NATURAL RELEASE for 15 minutes followed by a QUICK RELEASE for any remaining pressure.
Check the temperature of the ham. It should be 135°-150° to be warmed through. If not, return to the instant pot and cook an additional 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Carefully remove the top piece of foil allowing any steam to escape. Serve from the Instant Pot or remove the ham to serve.

Note about glazing the ham
This can be done with the ham in the Instant Pot or before inserting it.
If there is not much room between the ham and the Instant Pot glazing the ham before placing it in the pressure cooker is easier.
