Champagne Mango-Lime Agua Fresca
A festive refreshing drink, this mango Agua Fresca (water, fruit and a bit of sugar), a native drink of Mexico, is perfect to enliven any gathering or to take the edge of hot temperature. Made in less than 10 minutes too.
- 4 cups filtered water
- 2 cup Mango pieces , peeled
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed Lime Juice
- 3-4 tablespoons Turbinado Sugar (granulated sugar can be substituted)*
- Garnish: Lime Slices
Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until liquified. Serve over lots of ice, garnished with a slice of lime.
*Turninado Sugar is unrefined cane sugar, made from evaporating the liquid from sugar cane leaving a brown, granular sugar with flavor tones of molasses. It is more rustic in appearance and less sweet taste than granulated sugar and was perfect for this recipe. If using granulated sugar, taste the Agua Fresco after 3 tablespoons of sugar before adding more to ensure it does not become overly sweet.
