Orange-flavored Kettle Corn is a treat for the fall season but a fun addition to Halloween in particular. The natural orange flavored kettle corn marries perfectly with other fall candies to make a fun and unexpected treat mix for Trick-or-Treaters or for munching by a fire on chilly days. Kettle Corn is very quick to make, less than 20 minutes, so a great option for spur of the moment snacking!

Ingredients

Ingredients for Orange-flavored Kettle Corn:

  • Zest of 2 Navel Oranges
  • ¼ cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • ¼ cup Sunflower Oil
  • ½ cup Popping Corn

Ingredients for Halloween Orange Kettle Corn Treat Mix:

  • 4 cups Orange-flavored Kettle Corn
  • ¼ cup Candy Corn
  • ¼ cup Mellowcreme Pumpkins
  • ¼ cup Peanut Butter M&Ms (fall colors)
  • ¼ cup Reese’s Pieces
  • ¼ cup Hot Tamales

Instructions

Instructions for Orange-flavored Kettle Corn:

  1. Prepare a cooling space by laying parchment paper on a counter top to spread the kettle corn.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, combine the orange zest, sugar, and salt. Mix well with a dining fork to fully combine.
  3. Preferred Method: Using a Whirly Pop Popcorn Popper, add the oil and 3-4 kernels of popping corn over medium heat.
  4. When test kernels have popped, add the ½ cup of popping corn to the popper. Pour the sugar-zest mixture over the kernels, close the top and begin cranking the handle immediately. Within a few minutes the kernels will begin to pop and fill the popper.
  5. Remove the popper from the heat, carefully pour the kettle corn from the popper onto the parchment paper. Spread to a single layer for cooling.

Instructions for Halloween Orange Kettle Corn Treat Mix:

  1. Mix candy in a bowl to fully combine. Layer kettle corn and candy in individual treat bags.
