Spicy Thai Lemongrass Ginger Margarita

Ingredients

  • 1 1- inch long fresh Thai Bird Chile , destemmed and slit lengthwise (if a less spicy cocktail is desired, the seeds may be scraped and discarded)
  • 1 tablespoon Gourmet Garden Lemongrass Stir-In Paste
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Gourmet Garden Ginger Stir-In Paste
  • 1 1/2 ounce freshly squeezed Lime Juice
  • 3 ounces Blanco (White or Silver) Tequila
  • 1 ounce Agave Nectar
  • Optional garnish: lime wedges

Instructions

  1. In a shaker or quart Mason jar, combine the chile, lemongrass, ginger and lime juice. Muddle the chile well.
  2. Add the tequila, agave nectar and 1 1/2 cups of ice. Shake vigorously for 1 minute.
  3. Strain into 2 8-ounce Old Fashioned glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with lime wedge (optional).
