Slow Cooker Barbecue Beans with Bacon

Ingredients

  • 1 medium Yellow Onion , peeled and chopped
  • 12 ounces Bacon , chopped
  • 4 15- ounce cans Great Northern Beans , drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup Barbecue Sauce (prepared or homemade)
  • ½ cup Ketchup
  • ½ cup Light Brown Sugar
  • ¼ cup Molasses (light)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dry Mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
  • ¼ teaspoon Hot Smoked Paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon Liquid Smoke

Instructions

  • In a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat, combine the onions and bacon. Cook, stirring periodically until the onions are translucent and the bacon is cooked (it will not be crisp); 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  • In a 4-quart or larger slow cooker, add the beans, barbecue sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, molasses, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, vinegar, paprika and liquid smoke. Add the cooked onion and bacon and stir the mixture together. Cook on LOW for 4 hours.
