‘Tis the season for a bit of tippling and have I got a fun infusion for you: Pomegranate Lime Vodka. Doesn’t that sound good?! A bright seasonal vodka with some antioxidant power behind a variety of cocktail options.
Making infusions is not only easy and fun but it’s a perfect way to create blends not available for purchase. I think they make great gifts as well. For this recipe I have included free printable labels to make your gift giving all the easier!
There is still plenty of time to brew up some fun gifts for the holidays and I’m sharing some of my favorites from bloggers I admire, fun finds on the web and a link to last year’s Boulder Locavore list of 26 DIY Homemade Infusions and Liqueurs. With the exception of two recipes that deserve sharing a second time, all the recipes last year are different leaving you plenty of great options between list years list and this year’s! Get those Mason jars working.
This bright-flavored infusion is perfect for many mixed cocktails from Pomegranate Martinis to simple Vodka Tonics or mixed with Ginger Ale for a seasonal sipper. The color is a sublime pink making it a perfect choice for unexpected gifts. Free printable tags are included for your personal and gift giving use.
Total elapsed time for the infusion is 5-7 days.
Ingredients
- 2 cups neutral flavored Vodka
- 2/3 cups Pomegranate Arils (seeds), any membrane removed
- 1 ½ small limes, peeled and cut into large pieces
Instructions
- Pour the vodka in a quart Mason jar or other sealable glass container (plastic not recommended). Add the pomegranate arils and using a cocktail muddler or firm wooden mixing spoon, mash some of the arils for better infusion. Add the lime, muddle slightly and seal.
- Place in a cool, dark location for 5-7 days. Taste the infusion to ensure it has the density of flavor desired and either let sit longer if more flavor is needed or strain into a clean jar for longer keeping (discard the pomegranate and lime).
This Boulder Locavore favorite has been getting a lot of attention and I recommend it again this year for your gift giving: Homemade Spiced Pear Vodka.

I love making homemade infused vodka but never thought of the pomegranate lime. Sounds delightful for the holidays!
This is brilliant and would make a fantastic gift. I have to make some!
This sounds great, and thank you for the terrific recipe round-up!
I love the idea of vodka with “antioxidant power” : ) Thank You for including me in the roundup!!!
Absolutely! I scoured the internet to find fun, unique recipes to share and yours is certainly one of those! Happy Holidays!
the color is gorgeous! I’d love to receive this for Christmas
Have you tried a family favourite of ours – sloe gin? Of course we make it solely for the beautiful ruby colour which looks lovely in my Victorian glasses, oh and the warm glow inside and out while wrapping presents. Try it.
I actually have a few Brit blogger friends who love to DIY infusions as I do. They have beautiful recipes for making Sloe Gin however we can’t get the sloes in the U.S….that I know of! Love that rosey color though. I did make a version of Hedgerow Gin which is from your side of the pond. That was fun!
Love the looks of your infused vodka – such a good combo of flavors! I’m also drooling over some of those links you included in your roundup. Thanks so much for including me!
I am excited to try this. I am currently making my first Liqueur. Raspberry Lime! I am eager to bottle it for my gifts. Question though……do you find the lime makes it cloudy? I am trying to decide if I stir it before bottling or if I only use the top of the liqueur that is not cloudy. I make wine and hate my wine cloudy. Excited to try your recipe next. Pomegranates are in season! WOOHOO!
Hi Kerri! Your liqueur sounds delicious! My vodka looked exactly as in the photos; no retouching. So yes when the limes were initially put in the vodka it looked cloudy but as you can see the end infusion is not. I assume sitting for a week somehow dissipated whatever causes the clouding initially. Hope that helps!
